The most recent SAR policy brief “How Can Romania Meet European Energy Requirements? Three Scenarios” by Corina Murafa got a wide cover in the press.The policy brief was taken by some of the most important economic sources of information, partially cited bellow.

„A short diagnosis of how the electricity market works in Romania is showing that it still suffers from profound deficiencies”. Thus, over 70% of the energy trade takes place outside the specialized stock market (OPCOM), through the so called bilateral contracts negotiated or regulated”, shows a new report released by the Romanian Academic Society (RAS). In the natural gas sector the distortions in the market are even worse than in the energy sector, shows the report. The analysis comes in a time when the European Commission just launched a new infringement procedure against Romania, this time for failure to timely communicate the legislative changes taken for the implementation of the Third Energy Pack.”
