Public policy researcher, Valentina Dimulescu, represented SAR in the Steering Committee meeting of the Southeast Europe Leadership for Development and Integrity (SELDI) on “The Role of the CSOs in Implementing Regional Anti-corruption Programmes” and the international conference “Energy Security and State Capture Risks in Europe”, which took place on 27-28 October, 2014 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The Steering Committee meeting was dedicated to CSO executive management and development. In addition, representatives from the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) discussed the implementation of the “SEE 2020 Strategy and Regional Programming on Anti-corruption through Public-Private Partnerships”.
The international conference focused on the energy security and state capture risks in Europe after the NATO Newport Summit. The speakers insisted on presenting models of corruption risk assessments in the energy sector and the possible policy options for improvement of the sector’s governance. The conference contributed to promoting the energy security dialogue in the alliance’s member and partner countries and gathered leading EU and Black Sea Region policy-makers, government officials and civil society organizations.
